Lamy Station Now Staffed

Amtrak has assigned customer service representatives to its station in Lamy, New Mexico.

The representatives will assist passengers in booking travel, and boarding and disembarking from trains.

However, they will not be selling tickets directly. Passengers booking travel on Amtrak must pay for it using a credit card, reloadable credit or debit card, or an Amtrak gift card.

The passenger carrier is currently not accepting cash for ticket purchases at this time.

Lamy is served by the Chicago-Los Angeles Southwest Chief.

Stations in Havre, Holdrege See Changes

Amtrak customer service representatives have begun staffing the station in Havre, Montana.

They will assist passengers in making reservations for travel on the Chicago-Seattle/Portland Empire Builder and with boarding and disembarking from trains.

The station waiting room will be open at all train times.

In a service advisory Amtrak reminded passengers that it is no longer accepting cash for ticket purchases.

Tickets can only be purchased with a credit card, reloadable credit or debit card, or Amtrak gift cards.

In other station news, work has been completed on building a new boarding platform in Holdrege, Nebraska, for the California Zephyr.

In a service advisory, Amtrak said parking arrangements at the station have changed.

Parking is now being provided the city parking lot north of the train station.

The lot can be reached from Third Avenue with an entrance west of East Avenue. The lot is free and has no time limit.

Station Customer Reps Placed in Cincinnati, Charleston, Shelby

Amtrak has placed customer service representatives in its stations in Charleston, West Virginia, and Cincinnati to assist passengers booking trips and boarding the Chicago-New York Cardinal.

In a service advisory, Amtrak said that the station waiting room in Charleston has been relocated to a trailer due to construction to make the station compliant with ADA standards.

The interim facility will be open for passengers at all train times as will be the station in Cincinnati.

Customer service representatives have also begun working in the Amtrak station in Shelby, Montana, to assist passengers boarding or buying tickets for travel aboard the Chicago-Seattle/Portland Empire Builder.

Passengers will be unable to buy tickets with cash but must use a credit card, reloadable credit or debit card, or an Amtrak gift card.
