LAUS to be Used for Academy Awards Show

The April 25 presentation of the Academy Awards will use a portion of Los Angeles Union Station.

The depot, which was built in 1939, has been used several times in the making of films and television shows but this will be its first time as a host for presentation of the Oscars.

The Academy Awards primarily are presented at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre but changes are being made to this year’s ceremonies due to COVID-19 restrictions in Southern California.

To be used in the Academy Awards show are the station’s Grand Waiting Room, Historic Ticketing Hall, North and South Patios and Main Entrance.

Bus and train passengers will be provided alternative waiting accommodations during the time when those areas are closed for use in the Academy Awards show.
