First Nations Group Demands Added Coach

A First Nations group in Manitoba is threatening to blockage VIA Rail Canada trains if the carrier doesn’t make more seats available for its community.

The War Lake First Nations group held a protest but did not impede the passage of a VIA at Ilford, Manitoba, on Wednesday.

The group wants VIA to add another coach to  trains operating between Winnipeg and Churchill, Manitoba.

Betsey Kennedy, the War Lake chief, said members of her community have been having difficulty getting seats because tourists are buying all the tickets.
