Amtrak Offering 25% Discounts in Northeast Corridor

Amtrak has launched a far sale to try to stimulate ridership in the Northeast Corridor.

The fare are up to 25 percent off regular fares of Acela and Northeast Regional trains and are available through June 30.

Ridership in the corridor has taken a major hit during the COVID-19 pandemic and Amtrak sharply reduced the number of Northeast Regional trains operating and suspended all Acela Express trains.

Acela service resumed on June 1 when some Northeast Regional trains were reinstated.

Blackout dates include Nov. 24-25 and Nov. 29-30, 2020.

Advanced purchase is required at least three days prior to travel. Fares are one way (adult) and no additional discounts apply.

The discounts are valid for Acela business class seats and Northeast Regional Coach class only. Seating is limited and seats may not be available on all days.

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable. Exchanges are permitted within the ticket validity period with a 25 percent cancellation fee charges.

Once travel has begun, no changes to the itinerary are permitted. Other restrictions may apply.
