Student Discount Fares Offered in Capitol Corridor

Multiride fares are being offered to California college students by the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority.

The fares are part of the Stride On Board rewards program and offer a 25 percent discount for six rides over a one-year period on Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor trains between San Jose and Auburn, California.

Students must present a valid student identification card to receive the discount.

CCJPA said in a news release that students who buy the ticket can also join Stride On Board via mobile application to receive coupons for use on trains in the cafe car, as well as at participating eco-friendly retailers within the CCJPA’s service area.

Among the colleges served by the 170-mile Capitol Corridor route are the University of California, Davis; UC Berkeley; UC Santa Barbara; Santa Clara University; California State University, Chico; Humboldt State University and California Polytechnic State University.
