Texas Eagle to Leave Chicago 2 Hours Earlier

Amtrak’s westbound Texas Eagle will depart Chicago two hours earlier on May 16-23 as it detours over the former Chicago & Eastern Illinois route between Chicago and St. Louis.

The train’s regular route will have a curfew for track work south of Springfield, Illinois.

Amtrak is operating the train earlier to absorb the expected delays caused by Union Pacific freight traffic so as to ensure an on-time departure from St. Louis.
