Arcadia Valley Amtrak Service Begins Nov. 20

Although a grand opening has been set for Nov. 17, Amtrak service to Arcadia Valley, Missouri, won’t begin until Nov. 20.

Amtrak Texas EagleThat is because delays are expected to trains arriving in Arcadia Valley on Nov. 18 and 19 due to scheduled detours between Chicago and St. Louis.

Served by the Chicago-San Antonio Texas Eagle, trains times at Arcadia Valley are westbound at 10:02 p.m. and 4:19 a.m. eastbound.

The Nov. 17 ceremony will include a platform ribbon cutting and open house at 2 p.m. Some participants will board a chartered bus to St. Louis and ride the Eagle back to Arcadia Valley to participate in another ceremony.

The Arcadia Valley station is a brick depot built in 1941 by the Missouri Pacific to serve Arcadia and Ironton.

After its purchase by a community group in 2006 it became a visitors center and museum.
